Eugene Brown, Jr. is a partner of Sedgwick LLP in San Francisco, a firm that emphasizes complex civil litigation, including products and premises liability,commercial, labor and employment, and environmental and toxic torts. He has also defended public entities in actions alleging civil rights violations such as police excessive force, age and race discrimination, and sexual harassment. Mr. Brown is an exceptional trial attorney, having successfully tried to verdict in excess of 100 complex actions in California, as well as in jurisdictions throughout the United States. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of New York and the United States District Courts in New York, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi. He was the 2013 Director of the ABA/TIPS/ ABOTA National Trial Academy. He is a member of the American Bar Association, National Bar Association, and the San Francisco, Alameda and Los Angeles Bar Associations. Mr. Brown is a member of the Defense Research Institute as well as the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California. He is an Advocate ranked member of ABOTA and is past President of the San Francisco Chapter, a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers, Litigation Counsel of America, and a distinguished member of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Mr. Brown participates regularly as a lecturer and panelist on pretrial procedures and trial strategy and practice. Mr. Brown was awarded his J.D. (1976) from University of San Francisco School of Law. He was granted his A.B. in Criminology (1971) from the University of California, Berkeley.
